When is the best time to install winter tires on my Cadillac?
Make sure your winter tires are installed before it gets too cold outside. If the temperature drops below 7° and gets close to freezing, your winter tires will stay soft while summer or all-season tires will harden, resulting in longer braking distances and less traction. Winter tires should be installed on your Cadillac vehicle between mid to late October so that your vehicle is ready for the cold temperatures that are coming.
How do I know if my winter tires are still good for another season?
The tread depth of a winter tire determines its effectiveness. Tires with deep treads can shed snow, while small grooves provide suction as they slide across icy roads. You want your winter tires to have at least 4.8 mm (6/32″) of tread depth to last until spring. So you need to check the tread depth to determine if it’s still in good shape and make sure it’s at least 4.8 mm before you install your tires.

There are two reasons why you might want to install winter wheels on your vehicle in addition to its winter tires. First, if you buy a winter wheel and tire package, you can downsize your winter wheels and tires, which means you’ll save money in the long run by buying smaller winter tires.
